Mukesh Ambani Chairman of Reliance Industries, made several announcements at the Reliance Industries’ Limited (RIL) 41'st Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at the Birla Matrushri Sabhaghar in Mumbai.
Sharing Jio's achievements in the past years, he also shared future insights about Jio's upcoming launches. Jio has crossed the whopping 200 million subscriber mark in 22 months.

1. Jio Phone 2:

RIL launched the Jio Phone 2 4G feature phone. It comes with a few improvements in terms of design as compared to its eariler verion though it appears to share the same specifications. The phone comes with a full QWERTY keypad and supports horizontal screen viewing.

- Resolution: 240 pixels by 320 pixels
- RAM: 512Mb
- The phone has GB of internal storage which can be expanded upto 128GB using SD Card
- The phone has 2 megapixel primary back camera and 0.3 megapixel front camera
- The phone runs on KAI operating System
- Battery backup: 2000mAh
- connectivity options: Wifi, GPS, bluetooth, FM and NFC
- It is a dual-SIM handset that supports VoLTE and VoWiFi.
How can you buy the phone?
The Jio phone 2 booking will start from 15th august,2018 at an introductory price of Rs. 2999. Customers can book their Jio phone 2 from Jio's official website or from MyJio app.
2. JioGigaFibre
RIL has officially launched JioGigaFiber fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) broadband service. The company plans to extend fibre connectivity to homes, merchants, small as well as medium enterprises and large enterprises simultaneously across 1,100 cities. This fibre-based broadband provides speed upto 1 Gbps.
JioFiber is expected to provide video conferencing services, smart home solutions, online gaming and 4K video services. It will also work on TVs with the help of GigaTV set-top boxes and smart home devices. Interested buyers can register for the Jio GigaFiber service from August 15 via MyJio or Jio.com.
3. Whatsapp and Youtube in Jio Phone
Last year, RIL had launched the Jio Phone which provided 4G network and free voice calling to feature phone users in India. The company claims that there are almost 25 million Jio Phone users in India. Hence, due to the growing popularity of Jio phone across the nation, Google and Facebook have now introduced support for YouTube and WhatsApp on all Jio Phone handsets. Both apps will become available to every Jio Phone user from August 15 which can be downloaded from the Jio App Store.
4. Jio Monsoon Hungama offer
RIL also announced Jio Monsoon Hungama offer that will allow existing feature phone users to exchange their current device for the Jio Phone for just for Rs. 501. This offer will start from July 21.
5. Jio's Smart Home Accessories Suite
RIL announced Jio's Smart Home Accessories Suite which includes TV camera, plugs, doorbells, Wi-Fi extender, and more. The accessories can be used to control the entire home via the MyJio application.
Apart from this Jio is set to provide the smoke sensor, water leak sensor, siren, gas leak sensor, panic button, door sensor, and smart video doorbells.
